Coming to Brazil, I sold my Firebird (there will be others ;)) but I missed it, so when I saw an Epi Korina here for a good price, I snagged it. The only other Explorer I ever played was Rickey Medlocke's Ibanez Destroyer back when I worked for Blackfoot, but it didn't really grab me at the time. Neither did Charlie Hargrett's Les Paul for that matter! In any case, I figured why not? It took a little while to get used to, and the Epiphone mudbucker in the bridge had to go, but now I love this thing!! It's comfortable, sounds huge, and really makes an impression! So no mid life crisis. Just trying to keep it interesting. I still have SG's and a great LP. Variety is the spice of life!
PS: the Valvestate POS is the rehearsal studio amp, not mine. I hate those buzzy things.
