2012 Les Paul Standard (L) 2012 Les Paul Traditional Pro (R) The Trad Pro just didn't cut it and went back to the store. Too bad. It sure was pretty, but the sound didn't cut it. Next to the Standard it was thin, brittle, and shrill. - 2012 Les Pauls

Two 2013 SG Standards. Pretty, but the red one was thin and shrill on the high end (I actually had two red ones, returned the first one for finish damage, but they sounded about the same). They were also WAY too lightweight. The white one sounded and felt better, but it started turning pink after two weeks! So back to they store they went. - Three keepers? Not.
2005 '61 reissue SG <- 2012 LP Special-Junior -> 2013 SG Standard All nice guitars in their own right, but not perfect. Sold the '61 reissue. It sounded great but the neck was too wide. I returned the other two to the store. The Les Paul "Special Junior" is what got me into a real Les Paul Standard. - Midtown & 70's Tribute Firebird
Gibson Midtown (L) - Gibson 70's Tribute Firebird (P) The Midtown was really nice, but a bit too polite sounding for what I do, so back it went. If I could find a cherry burst Midtown, I may get another one someday. I did like it very much! The Firebird Tribute was also nice, sounded good, but I need neck binding, so back it went. - Three SG's
My trusty old, beat up, 1968 SG Standard (center), still the best sounding SG of them all. Flanked by the 2005 '61 reissue (L) and 2013 Standard (R). Currently the '68 one is the only SG I've kept. You can see how much wider the necks are on the newer models, especially the '61RI... like a plank. - Cosmic Hoedown

2005 TV Yellow Les Paul Melody Maker. A cool little guitar! - '97 Ferrari red SG
Ferrari red Gibson SG Special with ebony fingerboard. Bright! Neck like a baseball bat. Cool color but tough to play. SOLD. - Firebird V mod
Firebird mod: relocate pickup switch, kill switch (since removed) I hate the Firebird switch way out on the wing.. awkward! This is much better. Not much use for the kill switch so I've since gone with two volume controls & one tone. Photo Reeni Simcox - Red SG's
I like red SG's (not all mine tho', unfortunately). - Bill's 1968 SG Standard 40th birthday party
